For me pens are my constant, with my paints I’m not as picky but I also don’t buy large sets of colors. I’m the stick to red, yellow, blue. But I’m also a weirdo who likes to mix my own colors and only buy the colors I can’t make from these three or ones that I truly love. For me it’s hot pink, gold and neon green.

Pens on the other-hand, have always been a frustration bc either I found one that I liked but the ink dried out too quickly or the ink itself wasn’t waterproof and I found out many a time when I went to add some watercolor to the image.
Over the years, I learned to do swatches to save myself the heartache of ruining another work in progress without testing if it was smudge proof.
So call me impressed with these Tombow MONO Drawing Pen, 3-pack set.
Below are swatches of the pens themselves. We also tested them to see how well they’d do with watercolors or just adding water and they held up pretty darn well.
Granted my only complaint is I wish the packaging stated more clearly that these are black inking pens as the pen barrels themselves are blue in color and in the land of pens where color is dictated by visual it’s a little deceptive and explains why in all the years of purchasing inking pens I hadn’t gone for these sooner.
